The procedure
The procedure takes a few hours depending on the complexity of the procedure and starts with incisions made either within the nostrils or around the tissue between the nostrils. Dr. Kitto will then gently lift the soft tissue covering the nose and sculpt the bone and cartilage to the desired shape. The tissues are then repositioned and stitches are placed as needed.
Recovery process
Patients may experience swelling, bruising, bleeding, and headache for a short time after the surgery. Full recovery is expected within a week. Swelling may reappear occasionally in the first year after the procedure, and the results of rhinoplasty will become more apparent when the swelling recedes.
