The procedure

Dr. Kitto will make a small incision behind the ear and sculpt the cartilage into its new position or to the preferred shape. The ear will be held in the new position with sutures, and bandage is wrapped around the head until healing is complete.

Recovery process

A few days after the procedure, the bandages around your head will be replaced with a surgical dressing that should be worn for approximately one week. You may experience some pain or discomfort following the surgery that can be alleviated either with medicine prescribed by the doctor or an over-the-counter medication. Any incisions will be hidden behind the ear in the natural crease, and scars will not be visible to the eye.
